Getting Started

This section provides the foundational knowledge you need before using rootVX’s tokenization platform.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Access to the rootVX Developer Console to retrieve your Client ID and Client Secret.
  • A chosen name or identifier for your Platform.
  • A clear understanding of how you plan to use tokens in your environment (e.g., fractional ownership, reward points, or other use cases).

Definitions

Understanding these key terms will help you navigate rootVX’s tokenization platform:

  1. Client ID / Client Secret: Your credentials for authenticating API calls with rootVX.
  2. Platform: A ledger instance that defines a single currency (e.g., USD) and serves as the foundation for creating Asset Tokens.
  3. Asset Token: A digital representation of an asset (such as an investment product, reward point, or other instrument) that references the Platform’s currency.
  4. Investor Account: An account representing an individual investor or user within a Platform. It is linked to a rootVX Wallet, allowing the user to hold or trade Asset Tokens.
  5. rootVX Wallet: A wallet that each end-user has with rootVX to store currency or tokens.

Tokenization Process Flow

The diagram below illustrates the end-to-end tokenization process in rootVX’s platform. It outlines the key steps, from authentication and platform creation to asset token minting, investor account setup, and token purchase. Each component, including the Client Application, rootVX Tokenization API, Ledger, Asset Token, and Investor Account, interacts in a structured sequence to ensure smooth and secure transactions.
